A Journey Through Three Worlds
For BBC Worldwide Showcase, the ambition was to create an experiential environment that reflected the scale and diversity of the BBC’s content slate. More than a presentation, it became a fully immersive journey through three distinct worlds, each crafted to translate programming into lived experience.
Over 700 of the world’s leading senior industry figures attended this exclusive event, including A-list talent, global programme buyers, and executives from major platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, Apple, and Google. The showcase represents one of the BBC’s most commercially significant annual moments, shaping international distribution strategy and long-term revenue partnerships. Every sensory detail was aligned to serve both creative impact and strategic purpose, ensuring the slate was not simply viewed, but felt.

THROUGH THE SERENGETI
The evening opened inside a Serengeti-inspired world anchored by a sculptural Acacia tree installation and surrounded by panoramic projected landscapes. Guests were welcomed with champagne and canapés within this immersive setting, experiencing the savannah as a living environment rather than a themed reception.
Guests were given an exclusive first look at two major natural history titles: Dynasty, the award-winning series following endangered species through intimate, character-driven storytelling, and Serengeti, a landmark drama-documentary capturing interconnected wildlife narratives across Africa’s most iconic ecosystem.
Dynasty
Serengeti
A bespoke ten-minute cinematic film was created using exclusive footage from both series, revealing scale, emotion, and narrative depth before global release. The reception was designed as an immersion rather than a presentation.
Sound design drew directly from original series stems, layered and spatially balanced to evoke the atmosphere of the savannah while maintaining the sophistication of a drinks environment. Lighting, projection, and environmental design worked as one, allowing guests to feel placed within the ecosystem rather than observing it from the outside.
As the reception concluded, the environment began to shift. Lighting temperature cooled, ambient sound transitioned into archival Apollo transmissions, and guests were guided from wilderness to space without breaking narrative continuity.
Moon Landing Anniversary
The dining experience marked the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 with a multi-sensory tribute to one of humanity’s defining moments.
Working closely with Buzz Aldrin and his team, a bespoke film was crafted, combining archival footage with an exclusive piece-to-camera created specifically for the event. The film was shaped from over 300 hours of archive material, carefully distilled into a narrative that reflected the global anticipation and emotional impact of the moon landing without losing scale or intimacy.
Projected across a 30-metre by 9-metre screen, the film culminated in a fully immersive rocket launch simulation. A 4D soundscape and arena-wide vibration sequence recreated the physical intensity of liftoff, enveloping the audience in the scale and ambition of the mission while maintaining precise audio balance.
The result was not nostalgia, but presence.
